Day by Day

Hay all
Well, this has been an up and down week but, overall, good news for my cGVHD. My eye specialist said I was getting much better and my BMT docs also said things are progressing nicely so each lowered my medications...I am on my way to a more slimmer trimmer facial profile. My PFT's or pulmonary function tests were also unchanged and if you would like to hear a great story of God's grace then ask me about my PFT's. It is slow progress as expected and my Stanford team said the best case scenario is it is all a bad memory is 12-15 months! The other scenarios are ok too so far but time period is obviously longer. I should follow the economic recovery almost to the month....ha ha Well, maybe not so funny to some I am sure. It is art treating this so I am patient, stay informed, ask questions and pray continuously.

My mom came for a short visit which was wonderful and Laura and I got to visit with Curt (see my links) while at our Stanford appts. He looks great and he is less than a month away from his 100 day BMT freedom ride.

Tommy's football team is doing great (won by 1 point last Saturday in last 2 minutes) and Katy and Meghan are busy with Nutcracker rehearsals (see my links again). Katy also gets her driver's license this week too....yah!

Don't forget to attend a performance on the weekend of December 13th and anyone you know who is battling cancer then the the specially prepared performance is for them. Call the Civic Ballet for time and info. On that same subject, the fundraiser at Salsbury Vineyards for the Special Oncology performance was a success and it was great to see everyone, break the rules for one night and chat it up with you all.

I am able to get out and exercise regularly despite the 100 degree weather here is SLO lately. Jeez, I am so ready for Fall! This is crazy. Ok Al G. we believe you...ha ha
Thanks for visiting the blog and don't forget to sign in and say hi.

It was good to hear from you the other day and to read your recent posts. Thanks for the email - a computer glitch lost our past emails and so too your blog site prior to my saving it. I must say that after your "any Dodger loss..." comment it is only through my tremendous powers of forgiveness that I'm able to respond in a civil mannner today. To post such a comment on a public website is both hurtful and irresponsible. As for your head size, until someone mistakes you for Barry Bonds' Irish half-brother you clearly have nothing to worry about. I'm envious of what your household must be like these days. As an example, at our home, it is soccer season for everyone, gymnastics for Sabrina and swimming for the other two... and I love it. It is so much fun watching them enjoy just particpating in these activities. So between Tommy busting heads in full pads and the girls in the Nutcracker, your house must be buzzing right about now.
Enjoy and take care,

Scott

Hey, Rich--It's been great seeing you so much lately. Like I said at the football game, it's a good thing I like you because you seem to turn up everywhere I go! And Dave is always tailgating Mommom!
Regarding the swollen face, i just figured it's your perverse way of supporting the Republican nominee!
:-)
See you Saturday.....Elles Belles

Richie-
Enjoyed reading your recent post and glad to hear progress is being made. Joanne and Leah participated last weekend in the Nike Women's half marathon as part Ms. Avery's mother daughter team for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society/ Team in Training. Ms. Avery was recognized for raising over $450,000 over the past 4 years, pretty impressive. Everyone had a good time and I know you were on the minds of the SLO participants. Take care, talk to you soon. By the way,the Lion's are still perfect.

Hey Rich,
How about those Phils!!!
Glad to hear your good news. I guess we all learn patience through all of this, huh? We'll keep the prayers coming that way and you keep them coming this way! OK?
Yikes, Katy is getting her license? I remember when Brian got his and I stood in the middle of the street and watched him drive the 3 blocks to WAWA! A long time ago! The girls look beautiful and Tommy looks great in his uniform.
Love to all,
Aunt Linda

Hi Rich, we're glad to hear things are going well for you. John is "home" from the hospital and feeling so much better than this time last week! This is a roller coaster ride but we are hanging on tight. Best to you and your beautiful family (and that cute dog too!)

Hey Rich!

Sorry we didn't caffeinate together this AM. Are you coming to the swim meet at AG High School this weekend? Julia and Jake are planning to swim very fast for you and the other patients that benefit from the Hearst Center's existence.

As you know, the PUMA team hopes to raise about $10,000, and anyone interested is welcome to come by and watch some great kids swim hard, eat some food, enjoy the day and learn about breast cancer services.

There will be some beautiful T-shirts for sale and a silent auction with some great deals!

Hope to see you there!

Hi Rich and Laura,
So glad you are doing well and that all your ABC's of tests are improving. You lose me on PTF's or PFTS's but i like the info anyway. You encourage us all and are a great testimony of how God has sustained you. Love to see you someday. How about Forest Home, i think Laura could Lysol down the cabin, haha.:) Love you all,
